Securitization Masterclass

A unique opportunity to investigate the practical steps involved in delivering and managing a transaction

28-29 Mar 2022
Paris, France

Why You Should Attend

Securitization Masterclass

To ensure we meet your expectations and maximise your return on training investment, we favour a classroom/workshop style set

In the lead-up to the financial crisis, financial engineering resulted in the development of many different types of secured financing.  Since this time, although the number and range of transactions has declined, securitisation still remains a key source of funding for many institutions. Notwithstanding recent simplifications in the market-place, the technique is relatively complex and time-consuming to deliver and it can take a first-time issuer 6 months or longer to prepare for a transaction.

This course provides a unique opportunity to investigate the practical steps involved in delivering and managing a transaction and to consider the range of typical challenges faced by issuers as well as key investor considerations.

About your expert trainer:

Chris Westcott has had over 30 years of experience in the banking industry, with the majority of time spent working in the U.K. in the field of treasury management. He has held a range of senior positions in the Treasury functions of both Nat West and RBS. These have included divisional 'Treasurer' roles and various project assignments, where he led the development of an in-house securitisation capability (delivering ‘Arran 1 – 3’ residential mortgage transactions) and the integration of the ABN AMRO treasury function post-acquisition.

More recently, in the lead-up to the implementation of the European Capital Requirements Directive IV, Chris was the Basel 3 Programme Director for RBS, accountable for over-seeing the group-wide set of projects to achieve compliance with the new regulations. Chris is currently Head of Faculty for Bank Treasury Risk Management (BTRM), the world's first practitioner developed and practitioner orientated professional qualification in bank asset-liability management. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK and has previously delivered financial market courses for major financial institutions in the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Pre-course questionnaire:

A detailed questionnaire will be sent to all course participants to establish exactly where the group training needs lie. The completed forms will be analysed by the course leader/trainer and followed by telephone if further clarification is required. As a result we can guarantee that the course is pitched at exactly the right level and that the issues that you regard as relevant are addressed. The course material will reflect these issues and will enable you to digest the subject matter after the event in your own time.
