Transforming and Optimising Risk Operations

Creating an effective, adaptable Risk Management function

12-14 Feb 2018
London, United Kingdom

Why You Should Attend

Transforming and Optimising Risk Operations

How will you benefit?

In response to the financial crisis and the subsequent tidal wave of regulatory demand, banks have strengthened their risk functions. However, organisations are now realising that they need more than headcount to provide effective risk oversight. Regulatory demand for repeatable processes, complex data reforms, technological transformation, and shrinking margins make the cost of risk an increasing concern.

This class equips you with consulting, transformation and process improvement tools to structure your risk function as an effective operation which manages risk in a predictable and cost effective way.

About your expert trainer:

Thomas Obitz is a management consultant and senior advisor on risk and regulatory driven change. He is founder of RiskTransform, a niche consultancy supporting banks in integrating risk, operating model and IT change. He currently leads the operating model transformation work for the FRTB programme of a global bank.

Thomas has more than 18 years of experience in the Financial Services industry in roles including organizational change, operating model transformation and IT transformation, working as a consultant, project manager and business architect. He has a Big 4 consultancy background, is certified as a Financial Risk Manager (GARP FRM) and holds a TOGAF 9 certification.

Thomas has published on various aspects of the FRTB and on broader topics of risk change. Special areas of interest are the operational changes required to manage the impact of the regulation, and the data and data quality implications.

Pre-course questionnaire:

A detailed questionnaire will be sent to all course participants to establish exactly where the group training needs lie. The completed forms will be analysed by the course leader/trainer and followed by telephone if further clarification is required. As a result we can guarantee that the course is pitched at exactly the right level and that the issues that you regard as relevant are addressed. The course material will reflect these issues and will enable you to digest the subject matter after the event in your own time.
