Accounting Impact of Implementing CECL, the Credit Impairment Standard that Promises to be a Game Changer

19-20 Feb 2018
New York City, United States of America

Why You Should Attend

Accounting Impact of Implementing CECL, the Credit Impairment Standard that Promises to be a Game Changer

How will you benefit?

Given that the ALLL is probably the most critical accounting policy that banking institutions have and the fact that CECL represents a completely new methodology for reserving for credit losses, it will be a game changer for financial institutions in many ways. Therefore, it is imperative that banks establish a well-thought out process to implement the standard that ensures the impact to earnings and capital is contained, the implications of CECL are well understood and shareholder expectations are managed carefully.

The course covers the elements of an effective program for implementing the Credit Impairment accounting standard. An effective CECL program will provide senior management and the board of directors with a solid understanding of the pitfalls that could be encountered with the standard, the impact on strategic planning for the bank and how to mitigate the risks.

This is an executive level presentation where information is shared through examples, case studies and personal experience with CECL. Major concepts and ideas will be discussed and presented to illustrate the approach.
